The Screen Savers is a live Americantelevision program, shown on the TechTV (now G4TechTV) channel, which premiered along with the channel (then known as ZDTV) on May 11, 1998.
The Screen Savers is best described as a computer/technology variety show, which presents computer industry and technology related news, product demonstrations, software clinics, and interviews with notable people, usually with some levity. Like a talk radio show, the hosts take phone calls from viewers as well.
On the live June 12, 2003 episode, The Screen Savers host Sarah Lane "vandalised" the Wikipedia page on monkeypox, by writing "Sarah Lane is totally cool and does not have monkeypox." [1]
She later wrote that:
"Although this excites me in its ease and simplicity, it's a little frightening. I mean, what if I had instead written 'My boss is a big fat **** and his phone number is ****'? Sure, somebody would delete it, but this calls for some seriously dedicated moderators."
