Sandal

  1. redirect

Sandal is a village in the county of West Yorkshire, England, south of Wakefield, by the River Calder.

Sandal Castle is of Norman origin and was the venue for the Battle of Wakefield in the Wars of the Roses.

Sandals are an open type of footwear. Espadrilles are a kind of sandal. Related are mules and flip-flopss. The latter can only be worn with bare feet or special socks. They can be made of rubber, leather, wood (as in clogs or geta) or tatami (as in zori).

See also: clog, waraji, geta, zori, tabi

Sandals is a chain of all-inclusive tourist resorts, particularly geared towards heterosexual couples. Controversially, Sandals do not allow same-sex couples as guests
