Big Eggo Big Eggo was an ostrich who had a comic strip in the Beano . He was the first ever cover star in the Beano , from Issue 1 back in 1938 . His first words in the strip were 'Somebody's taken my egg again!'.
Big Eggo remained on the cover of the Beano until 1948 , when Biffo the Bear took over. However, he continued inside the comic for another year, although a picture of him remained on the front cover (next to 'The Beano' legend) well into the 1950s .
